
New generation of bacterial cellulose nanocomposites

the first team of technologists present at the nanofiber tech bazaar began its activity under the name of the startup "nanoslopan" in pardis technology park, following an agreement with shazan company as a sponsor and investor. the first nanofiber tech bazaar, which was held on october 19 of this year, simultaneously with the international conference on nanofibers of iran (icnf 2017) at tehran university of medical sciences and in cooperation with the nanotechnology development headquarters and ichallenge as a technology and innovation broker, sought to create an opportunity for investment and commercialization of the country's technological achievements in the field of nanofibers. during this event, 8 top designs and prototypes from the two challenges "nanofiber-based wound dressings with the ability to heal diabetic wounds" and "nanofiber-based filter system for providing healthy water" presented their designs to more than 60 representatives from institutions, funds, and companies that are investors and sponsors active in these two fields.

following the negotiations and meetings held between the technology teams present at the event and companies and organizations interested in investing in the projects, the first agreement has now been reached between one of the selected technology teams and the innovators of convergent cognitive, biological, information and nano technologies company (shazan). the above project, titled "antibacterial dressing for diabetic foot ulcers using bacterial cellulose/silver nanoparticles nanocomposite," belongs to a 5-person team led by dr. babaeipour, which is at the stage of presenting a laboratory sample in terms of technological maturity. it is worth noting that this technology team has so far succeeded in receiving 2 patent certificates related to its technology. this project, which uses a combination of bacterial cellulose and silver nanoparticles in the design and manufacture of the dressing for faster treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, in addition to its technical index features, also has significant economic savings from a production perspective, which can reduce the treatment costs of patients.
now, following the agreement reached between the technology team of the project owner and shazan company, this startup team under the name "nano cellopan" has started its activities in shazan complex to develop and accelerate the technology to the commercialization stage and present the product to the market. it should be noted that during the presence of mr. eng. torkan, senior advisor to the president, and mr. eng. rahmani, ceo of sarava venture capital company, at pardis technology park on december 10, the achievements and activities of the nano cellopan startup team were also visited.
